You would think a sex shop might not go over well in a neighborhood with lots of families and small children. But as CBS 2 HD found out, there's an adult store in Park Slope that's about to open where mothers and their young children are welcome."

"Now you might think a a mother would have more sense than to drag her young kids into a sex shop. But you would be entirely wrong.

So what do parents think?

"There's room for everybody, so I don't object to it," Corrine Rodriguez said.

"I have two little girls, 4 and 5, (and) I'm actually totally OK with it," Sue Gilad said. "I think this is a part of life."

"I actually think it's really fun and cool, now I don't have to go to the West Village," another mother said with a laugh"

Early sex education used to consist of naked Barbie and Ken and some vague explanations of how the dog had puppies. "And by the way it's more fun than it looks. Now don't you have something to do?"



Now we are given the distasteful thought of a sales clerk explaining the big blow-up doll with the real looking peepee and mom's endless fascination with the Hitachi Magic Wand.

Wonderful. Real motherhood in action.

Bride Strangles Husband: Honeymoon Officially Over

Fifty year old Michael Forbes' long time dream of owning a waterfront home finally came true in August when he purchased a split-level seven room abode with an inground pool and beautiful view. Michael told his cousin Yvette Dudley that he planned to slow down and stop working as hard, enjoy his life.

In September he walked down the aisle with his beautiful new bride, 29-year-old Kelly Chadee. Together with her daughter from a previous marriage they moved into Michael's dream home.

Two months later Michael Forbes’ dream ended when the day before Thanksgiving Kelly allegedly strangled Michael.

November 23, 2007 -- A Long Island desperate housewife who hated the 'burbs and longed for Brooklyn strangled her husband in the million-dollar dream home that he'd just bought and renovated for her, cops and neighbors said yesterday. [1]

No motive yet for Michael’s murder other than the bride was a “city-loving” girl who wanted to move back to Brooklyn.

Kelly Forbes was charged with second-degree murder yesterday in Nassau County First District Court in Hempstead. Prosecutor Michael Canty asked the judge to hold her without bail because of the seriousness of the charges. [1]

It was reported that Michael’s cause of death was by strangulation. This is unusual, this method of murder. According to New York States’ Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence women are six times more likely to be strangulated by a man.

“Ten percent of violent deaths in the US each year are due to strangulation, with six female victims to every male.”

Is the case of Michael Forbes one of domestic violence?

Strangulation has only recently been identified as one of the most lethal forms of domestic violence. When perpetrators use strangulation to silence their victims, this is a form of power and control that has a devastating psychological effect on victims and a potentially fatal outcome. [2]

Although not restricted to domestic violence cases, assault by strangulation (or throat- grabbing) is more likely to occur between domestic partners and in co-habitant/dating relationships than between strangers or during non-domestic assaults. [3]

Michael Forbes was ready to slow down and enjoy his life. He had finally found his dream home and was ready to live his dream life.

His new dream wife had other plans.

Boy George Charged With Male Model Imprisonment

Aging Culture Club pop icon Boy George, aka George O'Dowd, is once again in hot water with the authorities. In 2006 a New York City judge ordered George to pick up trash for community service and enter a drug rehab program after George pled guilty to third-degree false reporting of an incident. (George was busted for cocaine possession)

This time the authorities are in London and George is accused of false imprisonment and making threats.

LONDON - Musician Boy George was charged Tuesday with falsely imprisoning a 28-year-old man, British police said.

The 47-year old singer and DJ, whose real name is George O'Dowd, has been ordered to appear before a court on Nov. 22.

The Sun newspaper reported in April that a Norwegian man, Auden Karlsen, 28, claimed he was chained and threatened at O'Dowd's London flat, where he had gone as a photo model.

When the NYC judge ordered George to "pick up trash" I doubt the judge was referring to the Norwegian male model wanna-be.

Giuliani's Illegal Immigration Plan: "Give Me Three Years"

Rudy Giuliani wants to do for the U.S. as president what he couldn't do for New York City as mayor: reduce illegal immigration within three years.

More on a man with a plan by the New York Daily News:

If elected president, Rudy Giuliani wants to do for illegal immigration what he did for crime in New York City - reduce it dramatically within as little as three years.

"It can be done. It is not impossible," Giuliani told an Iowa town hall-style meeting on Wednesday night. "You can do this, you can stop them at the border."

To get the job done, Giuliani said he would boost the number of border patrol agents to 18,000 from the current 12,000 - much like he increased the size of the NYPD as mayor - and build a physical and "technological" border along the U.S.-Mexico border.

"If you do this for two or three years, you'll change behavior," Giuliani said. "If people come to the border and figure they can't get in, they'll stop."

Giuliani has been touting his illegal immigration plans since last summer, but his pledge to put a time-limit on dealing with the problem - considered among the most complex on the domestic front - is a more recent addition.

The generally-friendly tone of the article addressed a concern of many in the last paragraph.

Giuliani - who as mayor was considered among the most immigrant-friendly executives in the country - has stopped short of calling for the deportation of all illegal immigrants, saying deporting 12 million people is an unrealistic goal.

But he has called for the immediate deportation of all illegal immigrants who commit crimes.

So Rudy's joined the chorus of those strawmen-builders who keep addressing a question which has never been brought up by anyone except themselves:

"Can we deport all the illegals?"

He's spent considerably less time addressing his record as mayor on this problem and his support of sanctuary laws then on the books and any attempt by city officials to change them.

Giuliani doesn't require a dressing-down on this problem, but the insistent questions remain until he answers them; brushing them aside whenever they are raised or changing the channel won't satisfy those want to know.

The question of an ID card, and whether there will ever be such an animal remains for a later date.
