The new Mommies, senior citizens having babies instead of tickets to Branson, USA. Where women at age 50-60's were once relegated to grandmother status these women have chosen to push the boundaries of being Mom's, new babies instead of retirement at Sun City.

Birnbaum's 29-year-old daughter said she wasn't happy with her Mother's decision to have a baby at 60, that her Mother should be enjoying life instead of adding more responsibility and stress to it. Birnbaum said her daughter and people like her need to realize that Birnbaum and the new "old" mommies are a sign of things to come.

“I think those people need to get ready for what's coming up in our society. Whenever there's anything new, people cannot comprehend or have difficult getting comfortable," she said. "There are a lot of middle-aged women [having babies] — 40s, 50s, now I just turned 60. That's going to be acceptable. They have to just keep up with what's going on with society.”
